I’m commonly completely dedicated to the concept of pretending autumn does not exist for absolutely as long as possible. (I when attempted to wear shorts at Thanksgiving.  In Wisconsin.)

However, I can’t keep in mind a autumn fashion scene that had me a lot more ecstatic than this one. The plaids, prints, menswear, metallics, jewel tones as well as herringbones have left me with a full-on autumn fashion FEVER. (…and the only prescription is a lot more cowbell? I’m sorry, I had to.)

In the midst of obsessing over crop tops, booties, chokers as well as leather on top of leather on top of leather, I believed today may be a great time to get back to fundamentals with a bit truth check.  While I’m all for embracing the new wave of autumn trends, I believe it’s crucial not to get lost in them.  Instead, let the patterns get lost in you.

(I know, that was deep ideal there.  Things are getting real right now on The elegant Cubicle.)

I just indicate that you shouldn’t lose sight of (a) your own personal sense of style as well as (b) your environment.  Forgetting these things as well as you’ll begin rationalizing leather tiny gowns as well as camo leisure fits at the office.  And nobody wants to see that.  (Literally.  I asked everyone.)

So, before jumping off the proverbial deep end, I believed I’d pause today as well as throw on a traditional look that’s indicative of my own sense of style–regardless of the flurry of autumn patterns around me.

Instead of enabling this season’s patterns to rewrite the rules, be sure to very carefully weave them into your own fashion sense.  It’s not always easy, particularly with a appealing line up like the one we’ve got this year.  I mean, I sure never believed I’d be sporting a pair of overalls at the office and, well… that happened.  Nevertheless, I (hopefully) was able to make it my own.  I hope you do the same.

(But seriously, no camo leisure suits.  None.  ZERO.)

Get pumped, people.  It’s officially fall.
